Job Description
|
General Description: Define and develop the NMS Architecture Performance Management (PM) Operations System Support/NMS solutions that enable Service and Network Management to meet and exceed T-Mobile strategic business objectives. The NMS Architect provides leadership and directions for the PM solutions that will be integrated with configuration, fault, and service quality management solutions as per T-Mobile S&NMS strategy.
• The candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, and integration of NMS Architect into an existing network management system infrastructure for T-Mobile Wireless Network consisting of elements of GSM, GPRS, Signaling, IP/ATM data networking, and Applications (e.g. MMS, SMS etc) network segments.
• The candidate will initially focus on performing the analyses of requirements for the service and network Performance Management (PM) area of integrated OSS/NMS for an entire wireless service provider network consisting of both circuit/packet switching and data networking elements.
The candidate will work with network element vendors, gather requirements from internal engineering organizations and work with the development team to implement Performance Management solution to be deployed for the T-Mobile FSC, RF Engineers, Markets, Planning Capacity Group, and Core Network
Performance/Implementation groups.
• Act as a point of contact for internal and external personnel of NMS Performance Management.
• Proactively work towards resolution of issues related to NMS Architect
• Maintain good working knowledge of functionality of service & network management.
• Maintain current and future knowledge of wireless network technology trends and enhancements.
Work experience requirements:
Working knowledge of integrated service and network management systems in Telecommunications. Knowledge of GSM is essential.
Working knowledge of software requirement process.
Knowledge of operations, service and network management of wireless networks, IP broadband networks.
Knowledge of performance management systems (e.g. Metrica), common management platforms (e.g. NetExpert, HPOV), trouble-ticketing systems (e.g. Remedy), and inventory management systems (e.g. Crammer, Xng) are a plus.
Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Development is essential.
Knowledge of Data warehouse, DBMS
Experience of SNMP and vendor-specific element management systems for Wireless NE, L2/3 IP switch/routers (i.e. Cisco, Nortel, etc) is a plus
5+ years of experience in the NMS Architect analysis, design, integration and deployment of integrated Network management systems in Telecommunications
2+ years of experience with the network Performance Management systems in the areas of analysis, design, scripting and application development/administration.
Experience with Performance management systems (e.g. Metrica), common management platforms (i.e. NetExpert, HPOV, etc.), trouble-ticketing systems (i.e. Remedy, etc.) and inventory management systems (e.g. Crammer, Xng etc.) are a plus.
Knowledge and/or experience of Object Oriented analysis and development are essential.
Database, Data warehouse, and/or software development experience is a plus.
Education Requirements:
Minimum BS degree in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering or equivalent.
