Job Description:
Seeking enthusiastic self-starter to serve as J2ME Software Engineer as part of a team delivering client applications for mobile device platforms. Primary responsibilities include design, specification, development integration and unit testing of software components. Additional responsibility includes research and maintenance of a device capability knowledge base as new devices come to market. Experience developing and supporting J2ME applications for mobile devices is a must. Experience in other platforms, especially BREW, is considered a strong plus.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in professional software development of wireless applications running in a J2ME environment
• proven track record of commercial software product releases
• design and development experience
• strong J2ME programming skills
• polished documentation skills
• some experience with verbal and written customer interaction
• The ideal candidate will also have experience in embedded software development
• UNIX/Linux networking and server technologies experience
• system-level API development experience BSCS or BSEE or 5+ years total software industry experience
• Familiarity with version control and bug tracking databases
Additional Job Requirements
• Knowledge of other Mobile operating systems (Symbian, Brew, Palm, MS Windows Mobile, embedded Linux) as well as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, web middleware platform a plus.
• Knowledge of WAP, SMS, MMS, not required but is also a plus.
• Ideally have UNIX software development skills, networking programming 3+ yrs experience cross platform, TCP/IP software development and deployment both client and server applications over wireless networks.
• Familiarity with a breadth of development tools such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, GNU toolset, Ant, Make
