Job Description
|
Designing, modifying, and/or developing, integrating, and testing 3G layer 1 software.
- Extracting and providing document requirements from the ETSI specifications.
- Analyzing existing layer 1 software to understand where new requirements need to be added.
- Designing and documenting software to meet the requirements.
- Implementing and testing the changes using 3G test equipment.
- Writing software requirements documents.
- Writing software design specifications.
- Developing and writing software test plans.
- Participating in code reviews.
This position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience. Layer 1 software development experience for wireless products is required; cellular products (UMTS, GSM/GPRS, CDMA, etc) expertise is preferred.
General embedded software programming experience is needed, along with C, C++ experience. Familiarity with real-time multitasking RTOS environments, software development, and debug tools is needed. This engineer must also be familiar with basic PC programming and PC tools that control/monitor an embedded target.
Excellent communication skills at a level necessary to both work effectively with and influence cross-functional teams are a must.
