Job Description Director Network and Carrier Systems We’re Disney Mobile - Disney’s newly formed wireless venture, imagined and built at the Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG), the online division of the Walt Disney Company, and we’re in need of a talented and experienced professional to assist our leadership with an exciting new product and service offering. We’re looking for a Director Network and Carrier Systems to assist in the planning and implementation of a new wireless venture. Position will offer a significant opportunity for personal growth as the business matures. The Director Network and Carrier Systems provides overall leadership, management, and subject matter expertise to the Disney Mobile organization in the wireless carrier and network application space. This person is accountable for the overall relationship to Sprint and other network vendors and must work closely with them to ensure their platforms, enhancements, and functional roadmaps are aligned with Disney Mobile’s evolving business needs. This role will drive the technical and functional requirements and work closely with the business, the vendor, the Disney mobile PMO, and the testing organization to ensure that network releases are delivered on-time and on-budget. This role leads or drives: providing deep subject matter expertise in the network applications area for a MVNO; coordination with the vendor of the solution from definition, build out, testing, and deployment through maintenance; acts as a single point of contact to the organization for all items relating to Sprint network systems; setting of priorities for the network area working with a cross functional team of all impacted business stakeholders; planning for new system functionality and enhancements; estimation of effort, cost, and duration on internal and external billing and rating initiatives; definition of business needs to system requirements; resolution and vendor coordination for functional and technical network issues; providing support to Disney Mobile testing with expertise; status reporting on billing and rating initiatives to the Technology PMO; and management of scope agreements with the vendor. Specific responsibilities will include: *Requirements development, management, and business approval *Providing deep network and carrier systems subject matter expertise within the business and to the vendor *Issue management and resolution within Disney Mobile and the vendors *Managing new product offerings and changes into the network and carrier systems Qualifications: *12+ years experience with relevant network and carrier systems *Demonstrated knowledge in the applications, technologies, protocols, and business processes for an MVNO *Lead the development and articulation of business requirements with the business *Review and validation of vendor estimates for individual requirements or overall release deliveries *Experience managing the implementation of wireless business applications and support systems *Experience working with vendors or product suppliers a plus *Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical field required *Self starter, independent thinker, and worker *Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written *A participative, collaborative, and open style To apply please send resume and cover letter to dig.resumes@dig.com.
